Job Requirements of Director of Business Development for Information Technology:
Skills / Experience Required
- 12+ years of related IT experience
- Exposure to proposal coordination activities to ensure proposals are staffed and supported to achieve success
- Ability to work successfully in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment, emphasizing rapid fielding of capabilities, with minimal supervision
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in DoD Business Development and Capture Process
- Develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and expand market share within the information technology sector
- Lead a high-performing team of business development professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve revenue targets and organizational objectives
- Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, partners, and industry influencers
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop innovative solutions that address client needs and differentiate our offerings in the marketplace
- Drive the development of compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches to secure new business opportunities and partnerships
- Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify emerging opportunities and potential threats
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to drive customer satisfaction, retention, and upsell opportunities
- Negotiate contracts, agreements, and pricing structures to ensure favorable terms and maximize profitability
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to promote our brand and expand our professional network
- Track and analyze key performance metrics, sales data, and market trends to assess business performance and inform strategic decision-making
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product development, and operations teams to align business development initiatives with overall company objectives
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies in all business development activities
