Job Description

Location: Baltimore MD 

 

Security Clearance:   

Must be a US Citizen eligible for a DoD Secret Clearance. 

 

Job Summary:  

Collaborate on new product development efforts under minimal supervision to build, test and trouble shoot electronics circuits as required.  Work will be performed in a laboratory environment with a variety of moderate to complex tasks and functional activity. 

  

Key Responsibilities:  

  •  Circuit card assembly and test 
  • Assemble circuit cards under the guidance of an electronic engineer. 
  • Troubleshoot and repair circuit cards as required. 
  • Test and validate circuits for functionality and performance. 
  • Ability to work with electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, power meters, power supplies, etc. 
  • Knowledgeable in digital and analog circuits including power and control circuitry. 
  • Experience assembling opto-electronic components a plus. 
  • Assist in writing reports, operational documentation, and other documents as required.  
  • Other duties as assigned 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:   

Organizational and planning skills, excellent communication and problem solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy, solid judgment and decision-making ability, takes initiative and is adaptable.  

  • 1-3yrs Experience as an Electronic Engineering technician 
  • An associates or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Electronics Engineering. Research and Development experience is a plus.  
  • Experience working with electronic fabrication tools such as soldering tools, de-soldering tools, microscopes, etc. 
  • Experience with surface mount and through hole assembly. 
  • Experience with opto-electronics is highly desirable. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Solidworks PCB, ORCAD, or PADS design software. 
  • Electronics Design - Demonstrates ability to deliver excellence by taking personal accountability for achieving high quality outcomes.  
  • Ability to independently design and test electronic circuits to achieve operational functionality of the products under development.

Physical Requirements: 

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time.  Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen.  Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.  There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required.  Possible lifting up to 50 lbs.
