Job Description

Position Title:  Lighting Sales Technician

Location: Oahu, HI


KaiHonua, LLC is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed Lighting Sales Technicican to join our growing Entertainment Division. The candidate will work within a cohesive team that supports entertainment venues and company sponsored events.

Prior experience and knowledge of the Lighting industry from both a sales standpoint and a live show standpoint is a must. Sales to include Install and Design Services, and rental of equipment and labor to run events.  Candidate needs to have knowledge and a minimum of 2 years past experience in these areas.  This position will sell to hotels, churches, and schools.  Must have a driver’s license and reliable form of transportation to make sales calls at different locations.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) and must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance:

  • Must be able to regularly lift between 35 – 40 pounds
  • Develop sales leads with hotels, churches, schools and other venues.
  • Sales of Lighting products
  • Sales of Install and Design Services
  • Sales of Rental Lighting equipment and labor to run events
  • Be flexible and understanding as needs change
  • Delivers and sets up lighting equipment for conference-style events
  • Assists in the maintenance and repair of lighting and theatrical equipment.
  • Operates the lighting for performance events under the direction of management.
  • Under the direction of the Operations Specialist, assists with inventory control of lighting equipment.
  • Responds to customers' questions during an event in a polite and timely manner with complete and accurate information according to department standards.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required. 

  • High School/GED
  • Must have 2+ years of experience in Lighting Design, installation, and system programming for both live events and installation systems
  • Ability to multi-task within a demanding, client centered environment
  • High level of personal attention to client
  • High level of customer service
  • Greet client in a professional, courteous manner
  • Positive attitude a must!

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time.  Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen.  Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.  May include lifting weigh up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.  

  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Occasional use of company vehicle while on work site
