JOB DESCRIPTION
Location: Baltimore, MD
Job Summary
4S-Silversword is recruiting a Software Development Engineer to support our Applied Physics Group R&D efforts. The position will develop PC and embedded based software in support of research and analytical projects. We seek an entry level professional with some experience in applications programming, robotics, control, or communications programming.
Key Responsibilities
The Software Development Engineer will support the Applied Physics Group activities to include:
- PC based software implementation for electronic control systems
- Programming of FPGAs, micro-processors, or other embedded processors for robotic controls
- Communications coding methods such as Gray Code, Gold Code, WDM, etc.
- Support for all written reports and proposals
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
Must have Bachelor’s degree in Programming or equivalent plus a minimum of 1 year of applications experience.
- The candidate should have full SDLC experience and a working knowledge of C, C++, Visual C, Python, Arduino, or other embedded language
- Exceptional attention to detail for quality control of documents and artifacts
- Good communication skills and strong teamwork
- Ability to manage workload and schedule across multiple projects
- Self-motivated
- US Citizen
- Able to qualify for DoD Clearance
- Reliable Transportation Required
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 25 lbs.
