System Acquisition Specialist Senior

Location:  Fort Lee, VA

Job Summary:

KaiHonua, LLC has an immediate opening for a System Acquisition Specialist Senior for a team working on the eFLIPL system.  This position provides direct technical support to computer system users, answers complex and difficult questions to resolve system problems for clients; supports end users in system processes and troubleshooting. Provides desk side support and training for end users. Helps maintain a stable desktop environment with minimal downtime and maximum performance. Provides senior system process support to development team and to junior staff.

Provides functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software systems, including, but not limited to application software, utility software, development software, and diagnostic software.  Participates in the development of test strategies, devices, and systems.  Solving engineering problems (or managing the solution of engineering problems) in the functional area to which assigned.  Documents steps and procedures for end users and development team.  Supports and maintains user account information.  Familiar with a variety of the system’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Trains site personnel and end users in proper use of the application.

Must possess a broad knowledge of the various functions performed for the organization they work for.  Must be able to work independently.  Coordinate with external organizations.  Brief.  Develop information papers, decision papers, etc.  Must have the knowledge and experience to acquire the necessary resources to execute the organization's business.  Must be familiar with acquisition strategy, policy and regulation. Army Acquisition Corps Level 2 certification in logistics, program management or information technology is highly desired OR recognized industry equivalent professional certification. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) and must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance:

  • Provides Tier I & II support to users by researching, diagnosing, and resolving application problems.
  • Installs approved software within regular business hours. Prepare software using provided software package utility for deployment.
  • Assist users in identifying service requirements and developing appropriate technical specifications that are consistent with user needs.
  • Provide advice on proper application procedures and processes.
  • Issue, maintain, and delete end-user accounts
  • Provide end user training and guidance.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.  Four Additional years of applicable experience may be substituted for the degree.
  • 9+ years of relevant experience in the last 15 years.
  • IAT/IAM Certification not required.
  • TIER 2 Federal Investigation level required.


  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision
  • Able to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather than reactive by nature

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time.  Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen.  Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.  May include lifting weigh up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.  

  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Occasional use of company vehicle while on work site


Security Clearance:

Position does NOT require an active DoD Secret security clearance
