Video Teleconference (VTC) Technician II A2

Location:  Austin, TX

Job Summary

KaiHonua, LLC is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed VTC technician to join our growing team. This team supports mission-critical media operations and communications for our government customer that is responsible for providing IT services and support. The VTC Technician will be responsible for supporting communication events, and facilitating and coordinating connections of various media resources to stand up Video Teleconference (VTC) and UC connections across geographically disperse locations.

Responsibilities

Must be able to perform the following:

  • Schedule and manage telephone meetings using phone conference, VTC, and UC systems
  • Troubleshoot problems such as joining, conducting, and participating in phone conference, VTC, and UC meetings
  • Support various operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks for a variety of media systems, including live and delayed streaming broadcasts
  • Perform system integrity and connectivity tests to ensure system availability
  • Assess and report on performance and usage numbers
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including DoD STIG requirements
  • Develop and maintain documentation of all processes associated with administration of the network and duties performed by network & system administrators
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience performing VTC systems administration functions
  • Must possess and maintain an IT-I level certification IAW AR 25-2 and an IAT II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M
  • Secret Clearance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of VTC technology and equipment and coordinating VTC type meetings across multiple sites.
  • Customer service skills, and experience fielding and troubleshooting customer questions and issues
  • Experience supporting communications/media systems such as: phone conference systems, VTC systems, UC interfaces, live and delayed streaming video, and digital signage technologies
  • Experience with Video Teleconference (VTC) and Unified Communications (UC) technologies
  • Experience with media/VTC/UC vendors and technologies such as Polycom, Microsoft Lync (Skype for Business), VBrick, Sonus, Cisco, Ectocryp, Acano, etc.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision
  • Able to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather than reactive by nature
  • Strong verbal and written communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

 

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time.  Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen.  Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.  May include lifting weigh up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.  

 

Security Clearance:

Position requires am active DoD Secret security clearance
