Job Requirements of Network System Administrator L3:
Skills / Experience
Network System Administrator L3 Skills and Experience:
- Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- Willing and able to complete a Government Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph, as required
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in Department of Defense (DoD) roles with a proven track record of performance and technical expertise
- 4+ years of recent experience working in SAP and/or SCI environments
- Conduct daily operations, management, and maintenance of systems and networks—including cybersecurity support for Collateral, SCI, and SAP activities—ensuring JSIG and RMF compliance
- Execute daily, weekly, monthly, and annual O&M checklists; develop and maintain TTPs and SOPs to improve operational efficiency
- Operate enterprise SIEM tools to configure event alerts, generate reports, and monitor ongoing security incidents and residual risks
- Evaluate technical risks associated with new cybersecurity tools and procedures, support incident response activities
- Assess the security posture and performance of servers, network devices, and security appliances
- Manage COTS and GOTS solutions to improve system security and operational performance metrics
- Support network modeling, design, and analysis for infrastructure upgrades and acquisition planning
- Demonstrated expertise in Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, MS Hyper-V/VMware, firewalls, IDS/IPS, scripting, and database security, Familiarity with tools such as SIEMs, ACAS/Nessus/SCAP, and LogRhythm
- Collaborate with ISSMs, ISSOs, and ISSEs to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical systems
- Proven ability to operate independently in fast-paced, secure environments with minimal supervision
Education / Certifications
Network System Administrator L3 Education and Certifications:
- MS/MA
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education
- Must be able to obtain applicable DODM 8140 certifications as appropriate
- CompTIA Security+ certification

Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a skilled Network System Administrator Level 3 in Colorado Springs, CO, to support Department of Defense (DoD) classified programs. This role involves managing complex IT infrastructure servers, networks, and applications while ensuring secure and reliable operations across classified environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in system and network administration, including server setup, LAN/WAN maintenance, troubleshooting, and vulnerability mitigation. A solid understanding of system architecture, security protocols, and disaster recovery is essential.
Candidates must have a strong cybersecurity background, with proven experience ensuring compliance with JSIG and RMF standards, and the ability to work effectively with ISSMs, ISSOs, and ISSEs to protect system security and integrity.
Compensation Minimum: $135,000
Compensation Maximum: $145,000
