Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Junior-level VOIP System Administrator position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in NSWC Corona Division, Norco, CA 92860.

As a Junior VOIP System Administrator, you will be an integral part of our IT team, assisting in the administration and maintenance of our Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) systems. In this role, you will support the implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of VOIP infrastructure components. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with senior administrators to integrate VOIP solutions with existing systems, providing technical support for VOIP-related incidents, and contributing to system upgrades and enhancements. This position offers a valuable opportunity for professional growth, allowing you to learn from experienced team members and gain hands-on experience in managing VOIP technology within a dynamic IT environment.

Compensation Minimum: $80,000

Compensation Maximum: $91,000

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

  • Secret Clearance
  • 3 years broad expertise in system administration
  • Spearhead the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security
  • Configure and troubleshoot VOIP infrastructure, including call managers, gateways, and related components, to resolve technical issues and enhance system functionality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate VOIP solutions with existing systems and applications, ensuring seamless communication across the organization
  • Implement robust security measures to safeguard VOIP systems, conducting regular audits and assessments to identify and address potential vulnerabilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of VOIP system upgrades, patches, and migrations, staying current with industry best practices and emerging technologies
  • Provide expert-level support for VOIP-related incidents, analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and disruptions
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, to ensure a comprehensive knowledge base for the team
  • Monitor VOIP system performance, conducting regular assessments and implementing optimizations to enhance efficiency and meet organizational requirements
  • Collaborate with vendors to evaluate and implement new VOIP technologies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and future scalability
  • Mentor and train junior team members, sharing expertise and best practices to build a knowledgeable and skilled VOIP system administration team
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to critical issues, providing effective solutions and minimizing impact on business operations
  • Install, configure, and maintain Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems for organizations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to VoIP systems and network infrastructure
  • Monitor network traffic to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot disruptions as needed
  • Collaborate with network engineers to design and implement new VoIP solutions
  • Maintain system security by implementing appropriate access controls and backups
  • Administer user accounts and permissions, including configuring phone settings, voicemail, and call routing
  • Keep up to date with emerging VoIP technologies and industry trends.
  • Conduct training sessions for end-users on how to use the VoIP system effectively
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as system diagrams, policies, procedures, and manuals
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in VOIP system administration, enhancing overall system efficiency and reliability
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective VOIP system solutions
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in VOIP technology, continuously evaluating and recommending improvements to enhance the organization's communication infrastructure

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
  • Work experience may be accepted in leu of a degree
  • IAT Level II2 certification/DoD 8570 certifications:
  • CAP
    CASP+ CE
    CISM
    CISSP (or Associate)
    GSLC
    CCISO
    HCISPP

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
