Job Requirements of Systems Engineer IV:
Skills / Experience Required
- Possess and maintain an active Secret DoD clearance
- 15 years of experience architecting, deploying, and managing enterprise level Windows Server and Virtualization solutions from the planning to the sustainment phase in a DOD healthcare environment
- Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise-level Windows Server and virtualization solutions across all project phases, from planning to sustainment
- Lead the design and deployment of technologies such as Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022), VMware vSphere, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, SANs, IIS, SQL Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Azure
- Implement and maintain security solutions in compliance with DoD requirements, including STIGs, RMF, ACAS, Splunk, and Trellix ESS
- Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise-level Windows Server and virtualization solutions across all project phases, from planning to sustainment
- Lead the design and deployment of technologies such as Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022), VMware vSphere, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, SANs, IIS, SQL Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Azure
- Implement and maintain security solutions in compliance with DoD requirements, including STIGs, RMF, ACAS, Splunk, and Trellix ESS
- Oversee the integration, testing, upgrading, and documentation of infrastructure platforms, ensuring alignment with organizational business requirements
- Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard systems and mitigate risks
- Conduct infrastructure platform modeling, performance analysis, and capacity planning to support operational needs
- Collaborate with architecture teams to evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance operational efficiency
- Provide technical leadership and resolve complex troubleshooting issues, coordinating with system administrators and vendors when necessary
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including standard operating procedures, maintenance guides, and knowledge base articles
- Manage day-to-day operational and administrative tasks for deployed systems in lab and production environments
- Serve as a technical expert, leading high-impact technology assignments and mentoring team members to achieve project goals
Technical Training:
- Implementing Citrix XenApp 5.0 for Windows Server 2008
- Advanced Administration for Citrix XenApp 5.0 for Windows Server 2008
- VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, and Manage

Education / Certifications
- Master’s degree (MA/MS/ME)
- 2 additional years of relevant experience is needed if substituting a a bachelor's degree in information technology (IT) for the master’s degree
- IT Security Designation: ADP/IT-II
- Investigation Required: Tier 3 (T3)
- IA Technical/Management Designation: IAT III and CE
- CompTIA Security +
- CompTIA Network+
- Citrix Certified Advanced Administrator (CCAA)
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
- Assured Compliance and Assessment Solution (ACAS)

Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems, LLC is seeking an experienced and dynamic System Engineer IV. This senior technical leader will be responsible for architecting, deploying, and managing enterprise-level infrastructure solutions within a DoD healthcare environment to support requirements that cross all telecommunications activities and have subject matter expertise in (Unified Critical Telecommunication Systems) such as nurse call, middleware transport, pocket pagers, and public address systems that intra-communicate supporting urgent and emergent staff within the facility. With advanced knowledge of Windows Server, virtualization technologies, and DoD-specific security protocols, this role ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of infrastructure platforms. The top candidate will oversee the design, integration, and sustainment of critical systems, collaborate with stakeholders to meet organizational goals, and serve as a technical expert across multiple projects.
Compensation Minimum: $160,000
Compensation Maximum: $165,000
