Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the level four Scheduling Analyst SME position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

The primary focus of this role is to spearhead the development, support, and integration of program plans and schedules, ensuring strict compliance with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) requirements.

In this position, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development, planning, and maintenance of detailed schedules. This includes coordinating and consolidating schedules to ensure alignment with scheduling policies and incorporation into the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in scheduling analysis and management, with a deep understanding of Earned Value Management principles and practices. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are essential for success in this role.

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

  • 12+ years relevant DoD (Department of Defense) work experience
  • Development, support, and integration of program plans and schedules to meet EVMS requirements
  • Oversight of detailed schedule development, planning, and maintenance.
  • Coordination and consolidation of schedules to ensure consistency and compliance with scheduling policies
  • Integration of detailed work plans into the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
  • Seasoned management experience within government acquisition organizations, demonstrating adept leadership in navigating complex acquisition processes
  • Highly desired proficiency in the space acquisition environment, showcasing a specialized understanding of the intricacies and challenges inherent to this domain
  • Mastery of MS Project and MS Project Server, exemplifying expert-level proficiency in utilizing these tools to drive project success
  • Ability to distill complex information into clear and concise communication, facilitating understanding across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Familiarity with the design, development, and manufacturing of systems compliant with DoD contracts, specifications, and standards, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated capability in organizing project activities into a logical sequence, guiding the progression towards the successful completion of program objectives
  • Expertise in aligning tasks with true successor and predecessor requirements, identifying realistic critical paths and optimizing project timelines
  • Proficient utilization of Earned Value Management to develop compliant schedules, enabling accurate metrics, analysis, and actionable insights
  • Strong understanding of life cycle phase entry and exit criteria, ensuring appropriate application of Earned Value Techniques and conducting regular status activities
  • Critical in leveraging Work Breakdown Structure principles to organize schedules and capture WBS element resources effectively
  • Proficiency in analyzing existing project schedules and providing strategic guidance on critical path optimization and workaround options to meet program requirements
  • Ability to implement and manage an MS Project Server environment, providing centralized oversight and coordination for all active projects
  • Skilled in developing written processes and procedures for the team's utilization of MS Project, enhancing operational efficiency and standardization.
  • Diligent validation of schedule accuracy in predicting key milestone accomplishments, providing vital insights into project progress and ensuring alignment with objectives
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, coupled with demonstrated leadership capabilities, fostering effective team collaboration and communication
  • Recognized as an industry leader, renowned for outstanding analytical skills and substantial contributions to the field, positioning as a trusted authority and influencer in scheduling and project management
  • Education / Certifications
  • BS/MA (mandatory), STEM or equivalent experience (preferred)
  • MS/MA (preferred), STEM or equivalent experience (preferred)
  • Key Skills/Experience Required for Interview Selection ONLY
  • Expert-level knowledge of MS Project and MS Project Server  
  • Expert at using Earned Value Management in order to develop compliant schedules that form the basis for accurate metrics, analysis, and corrective action plans  
  • Ability to implement an MS Project Server environment and provide a program master schedule for all active projects.  
  • Ability to develop written processes and procedures on the management team’s use of MS Project to further institutionalize standard operating procedures  
  • Recent experience working in a classified environment with classified programs

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
