Job Requirements of Computer Support Specialist V:
Skills / Experience Required
Computer Support Specialist V Skills and Experience:
- Active Secret Clearance
- 7+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) environments
- Remain on call 24/7, including Federal holidays; respond on-site within two hours for mission-critical support
- Deploy and manage Army Golden Master-approved office automation software
- Provide NIPRNET and SIPRNET on-site support, prioritizing command staff and leadership; escalate major outages as necessary
- Install, configure, image, troubleshoot, relocate, and repair desktops, laptops, printers, and handheld devices
- Configure and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows systems, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Outlook), and NCES products
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and access rights; support IAVA remediation activities
- Respond to HELPDESK calls and support requests via remote tools and automated ticketing systems (e.g., Remedy/ITSM)
- Track and escalate unresolved issues; submit daily system status reports to leadership
- Support collaborative tools used in briefings and events, including Jabber, DCO Connect, Google Earth, and notification systems
- Resolve hardware/software/network issues; coordinate with Tier II and Tier III administrators as needed
- Support and troubleshoot Wi-Fi, AirCard, VPNs, CAC Smart Card readers, and Outlook Web Access
- Log, analyze, and troubleshoot system issues, document resolutions and update ticketing records
- Maintain software and hardware libraries; manage lifecycle of issued equipment
- Monitor and report ticket status; notify support teams of delays or escalations
- Identify recurring support issues using historical ticket data; recommend long-term solutions
Education / Certifications
Computer Support Specialist V Education and Certifications:
- IT I & IAT II certifications as specified in DoD 8570.01-M and BBP 05-PR-M-0002
- 4+ years of experience performing PC maintenance functions
- MS Desktop Support Technician or equivalent certification preferred
- At least a high school diploma/GED

Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking an energetic and highly skilled individual to join our team of qualified, diverse professionals as a Computer Support Specialist Level V.
A Computer Support Specialist provides technical assistance and problem-solving for computer users, focusing on resolving issues with hardware, software, and networks. They may handle user inquiries via phone, email, or in-person, offering guidance and solutions to technical problems. This role also includes tasks like installing software, maintaining systems, and training users on new software or hardware. They will also conduct site visits for in-person technical support and manage user accounts and system access.
Compensation Minimum: $90,000
Compensation Maximum: $98,000
