Job Requirements of Accounting & Finance Intern:
Skills / Experience Required
Required Skills and Qualifications for the Summer Internship:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- Foundational understanding of financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with familiarity in data organization, formulas, and basic financial analysis
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in data entry and review
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management abilities with the capacity to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt to various accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Oracle, or SAP
- Genuine interest in areas such as financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance
- Proven ability to work independently while contributing positively to team-based projects
- Demonstrated initiative, intellectual curiosity, and a strong desire for professional growth and development
Education / Certifications
- High school diploma and must be actively working on or have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration.

Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.

Job Salary: $25 / hour. Full time 40 hours/week. No benefits.
Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a driven and detail-oriented individual to join our Accounting and Finance team as a Summer Intern. This internship provides hands-on experience across a wide range of financial functions, including financial analysis, budgeting, reconciliations, reporting, and internal controls.
Guided by seasoned professionals, the intern will gain valuable insight into the operations of a dynamic federal contracting environment and contribute to impactful, real-world projects. The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
Compensation Minimum: $25 hour
