Job Salary: $88,000 - $96,000

Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a Network Monitor Function SME to provide 24/7 on-site support for ATLAS networking capabilities, including Secret and TS/SCI connections. This critical role ensures network stability, security, and performance by monitoring operations, troubleshooting issues, and escalating incidents as needed to maintain secure communications.

Success in this role requires expertise in network operations, incident response, and cybersecurity within high-pressure, 24/7 environments. Your ability to safeguard classified networks and optimize performance will be essential to mission success.

Compensation Minimum: $88,000

Compensation Maximum: $96,000

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

Network Monitor Function SME Skills/Experience needed:

  • Currently hold an active TS/SCI clearance required
  • 10 plus years of experience in 24/7 network monitoring, including analyzing dashboards, executing approved procedures, and escalating anomalies that could lead to system failures or network degradation
  • 10 plus years of experience using ATLAS or Kobayashi Maru ticketing systems to track, manage, and resolve network-related issues
  • Proficiency in performing network connectivity checks to validate failures and identify root causes of connection issues
  • Strong background in monitoring network metrics (e.g., congestion, latency, and degradation) to optimize system functionality and reporting findings to 18th SDS
  • Experience conducting quarterly workflow analysis to identify inefficiencies, reduce costs, and recommend performance-enhancing measures
  • Ability to execute pre-determined contingency plans (e.g., ATLAS runbooks) as directed by the Government to restore critical KM network services
  • Experience providing timely notifications to 18th SDS crew commanders or lead operators regarding network degradations and executing pre-determined workflows for internal platform networks
  • Proven ability to execute restoration procedures and provide timely updates when network capabilities return to normal performance

Education / Certifications

  • High School Diploma
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ or ITIL (preferred)
  • Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
