Job Requirements of Security Control Assessor (L3):
Skills / Experience Required
Security Control Assessor L3 Skills and Experience:
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance eligibility
- Willing and able to complete a Government Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph, if required
- 10+ years of experience in Department of Defense roles, with a strong record of performance and subject matter expertise
- 4+ years of recent experience in SAP and/or SCI environments
- Extensive experience conducting comprehensive assessments of management, operational, and technical security controls to evaluate their overall effectiveness
- Proven ability to determine the implementation and effectiveness of security controls in meeting system security requirements
- Thorough understanding of key security roles, including Authorizing Official (AO), Information System Owner (ISO), Information/Data Owner, Program Security Officer (PSO), Information System Security Manager (ISSM), and Information System Security Officer (ISSO)
- Skilled in conducting unit-level system inspections, preparing detailed reports, and delivering executive-level briefings to stakeholders
- Deep expertise in the Risk Management Framework (RMF), with specific experience applying the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG)
Education / Certifications
Security Control Assessor L3 Education/Certifications:
- Master's degree: MA, MS, or ME
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education
- Must be able to obtain applicable DODM 8140 certifications

Security Clearance

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.

Job Salary: $155,000 - $170,000
Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a motivated and highly qualified professional to serve as a Security Control Assessor at Level 3. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic and skilled team dedicated to delivering exceptional results for our customers.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in evaluating the management, operational, and technical security controls of Information Systems to assess their overall effectiveness. This role includes support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) environments, with a focus on serving the Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM) and its subordinate units
Compensation Minimum: $155,000
Compensation Maximum: $170,000
