Job Title: Contract Specialist

Job Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80919

Salary Range: $150,000 - $165,000

Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the level three Contract Specialist position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

In this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Contracting Officer in the planning and execution of acquisitions across a diverse range of products and services, bolstering our contracting efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience and expertise in contract management, with a proven record of accomplishment of success in navigating complex acquisition processes. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are crucial for excelling in this role.

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

  • 10 + years of relevant Department of Defense (DoD) experience with proven/practical hands-on experience with contracts and subcontract
  • Provide end-to-end contract support, including meticulous market research, solicitation documentation preparation, and thorough proposal review to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Expertly prepare cost/price evaluations, offering strategic negotiation advice to secure favorable outcomes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop tailored acquisition strategies and decide best contract methods
  • Administer contracts diligently, maintaining meticulous documentation and facilitating necessary modifications
  • Assist Contracting Officers in ensuring contract performance and addressing emerging issues
  • Demonstrate mastery of regulatory requirements and extensive experience with agencies like DCAA and DCMA
  • Recognized as an industry leader with exceptional analytical and leadership skills
  • Excel in organizing and presenting complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Work autonomously while fostering collaboration and innovation among team members
  • Apply strong critical thinking skills to anticipate and address challenges proactively
  • Oversee contracts, liaising with internal and external stakeholders for seamless execution
  • Negotiate contract terms aligning with organizational goals, prioritizing risk mitigation and financial optimization
  • Lead interdepartmental communications to resolve contractual issues promptly
  • Conduct thorough proposal evaluations, ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Maintain precise contract documentation in adherence to government policies
  • Offer expert contract guidance to internal teams for compliance
  • Ensure prompt review and communication of contract modifications to stakeholders
  • Possess extensive experience in cost-type contracts and FAR Part 15 Source Selection Process

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor of Science/Art
  • Significant relevant work experience/training may be considered in lieu of a degree such as prior work in the Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM)

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
