Job Title: Training Support Analyst - Cargo Fuels Management Accounting

Location: Norfolk, VA

Introduction:

Rivet Operations Company (“Rivet”) has an opening for a Training Support Analyst to join our rapidly growing team in the Norfolk, Virginia area. This position will support the Military Sealift Command by providing Cargo Fuels Management Accounting Training services. Rivet is an exceptional industry partner to the Department of Defense (DoD) and a leader in physical and cyber security, IT management, logistics, supply chain management, process improvement and development.

Duties:

The performance of this work requires the application of broad knowledge of a wide variety of logistics support activities necessary to support Military Sealift Operations. These include, but are not limited to:

CARGO FUELS MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING (CFMA) TRAINING SUPPORT / INSTRUCTOR.

  • To identify all activities that will be involved in providing needed logistical support.
  • Support CONUS/OCONUS Cargo Fuels Management and Accounting.
  • Analyze and assess daily TIRs received from various ships with an average of 20 per day.
  • Conduct weekly reviews of processing TIR transactions and EOM report submissions.
  • Audit, analyze, forecast, make, and provide data/recommendations on TIR/EOM reports for trends that deviate from normal business practices.
  • Conduct assessments and provide training to CIVMARs and Military Crews around the world including afloat and onboard training.
  • Provide remote assistance responding to ship’s requesting assistance on any Cargo Fuels’ procedures, training, and issues.
  • Develop and perform updates to curriculum as procedures change or additional guidance is received.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Initiative-taker requiring minimal supervision.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • 10 years experience with the U.S. Navy or MSC Afloat experience.
  • S. Navy experience, e.g., operational stock control management experience, afloat or ashore, e.g., LDO/CWO DIVO/senior enlisted (E7-E9) leadership with large deck platform (CVN, LHD, LHA, or LCC) experience.
  • MSC GOGO ship experience, e.g., MSC SUPPO or JSO on T-AFS, T-AKE, T-AO, T-AOE, T-AH, or T-AS or MSC N4 logistics employee.
  • Documented working knowledge and expertise in fuels management, accounting, and TIR processing on U.S. Navy and/or MSC CLF/Expeditionary Sea Base (ESB) vessels. Examples of this experience include ShipCLIP, Rsupply, CMLS, and Fuels Management Defense (FMD) software experience.
  • Documented general knowledge of DLA operating procedures for DLA owned/capitalized product(s) and how they apply to MSC vessels.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, and Outlook) is preferred.

Security Clearance:

Position requires applicant to be a US Citizen and obtain the required security clearance for the position.

Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Lifting to 40 lbs.
