Skills / Experience Required
- 10+ years relevant experience within the Department of Defense (DoD)
- Takes the helm in driving requirements formulation, design conceptualization, and meticulous analysis of technical solutions for expansive optical or industrial facilities, encompassing intricate systems, machinery, control rooms, operator interfaces, and associated infrastructure, all within a classified environment
- Assumes leadership or provides vital support in overseeing technical programs, projects, or tasks of considerable complexity
- Applies advanced principles, theories, and concepts to navigate the intricacies of complex systems
- Demonstrates a consistent record of accomplishment of delivering exceptional standards within stipulated time limits and budgetary constraints, highlighting adept problem-solving skills in dynamic, high-stakes environments
- Offers invaluable insights, highlighting potential risks to performance, schedule, and budget stemming from proposed contractor plans or their execution
- Upholds standards of quality for program, project, or task deliverables, ensuring alignment with established metrics and overarching warfighting objectives
- Strategically plans and executes research, design development, and other critical assignments, adhering to design, engineering, and customer specifications
- Assumes responsibility for technical and engineering facets of major initiatives, playing a pivotal role in their successful execution
- Facilitates coordination among diverse stakeholders and agencies to ensure the support of objectives and delivery milestones
- Monitors and recommends design considerations, evaluating associated cost, schedule, and technical ramifications and project requirements
- Initiates, oversees, and/or refines project requirements from start to fruition

Education / Certifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineer (mandatory)
- Master of Science/Master of Engineering (preferred)

Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the level three Civil Engineer position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
The ideal candidate will show technical ability and a wealth of experience in designing and constructing large-scale industrial facilities, overseeing every phase from site selection and preparation to construction, operations, and maintenance. Collaborating closely with the government Program Manager, as well as the Chief and Lead Engineer, this individual will play a pivotal role in the technical advancement, design, procurement, and establishment of a ground-based sensing capability. Serving as the primary liaison between the government program team and the contractor, this role assumes leadership in Civil Engineering, spearheading the planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance of a specialized facility. In this role, you will be entrusted with comprehensive oversight of project planning, development, and review of budgets and cost elements. Additionally, you will be tasked with composing or reviewing technical reports and effectively conveying intricate findings to management and executive leadership.
