Job Salary: $175,000 - $190,000

Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to fill the Network and Cloud Engineer Level 3 position in support of the United States Space Force (USSF). This is a great opportunity to contribute to mission-critical infrastructure that supports space systems testing and training environments.

The Network and Cloud Engineer will support the planning, acquisition, development, and sustainment of on-premises and off-premises networks for long-term USSF test and training capabilities. The role includes assisting with coordination, analysis, and execution of network and cloud solutions that align with cybersecurity requirements and mission needs. The engineer will also evaluate vendor performance and ensure reliable network operations across critical infrastructure.

Compensation Minimum: $175,000

Compensation Maximum: $190,000

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

Network and Cloud Engineer L3 Skills and Experience:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • 10+ years of relevant, hands-on experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) network engineering and infrastructure operations
  • Full-time, on-site role with flexibility to travel up to 25% as required to meet mission and project needs
  • Expertise in designing, developing, and deploying complex network architectures, including topological planning, synthesis, and implementation
  • Skilled in producing and refining technical documentation, including review and enhancement of partner- or vendor-generated materials
  • Extensive background in assessing and validating network and cloud solutions to ensure alignment with operational requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of network protocols and infrastructure, including DNS, LAN, WAN, VPN, and TCP/IP
  • Hands-on experience with leading cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle Cloud), including managing hybrid cloud environments
  • Well-versed in utilizing Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and other cloud service models to support scalable and secure solutions
  • Experienced in working closely with cybersecurity teams to ensure adherence to DoD cybersecurity standards, frameworks, and best practices
  • Prior support to System Program Offices (SPOs), Program Management Offices (PMOs), or similar environments, with responsibilities for planning and integrating technical capabilities
  • Recognized for strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks
  • Effective at collaborating across diverse technical teams and coordinating with both government and contractor personnel in distributed or co-located settings
  • Capable of operating independently with limited supervision, while maintaining alignment with leadership priorities and mission objectives
  • Strong communicator with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, actionable insights for leadership and stakeholders
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable—able to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines in a high-tempo environment

Education / Certifications

Network and Cloud Engineer L3 Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • Masters’ Degree (strongly desired)
  • CompTIA Security+ and Network+ (strongly desired)
  • Cisco Network, Design, Internetwork, Data Center, DevNet, Service Provider or other certifications (strongly desired)
  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate or Specialist (JNCIA/JNCIS) (strongly desired)
  • VCP6-NV (VMware Certified Professional 6 – Network Virtualization) (strongly desired)
  • Amazon Cloud Practitioner, Developer, Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Advanced Networking, or other certifications (strongly desired)
  • Relevant work experience or training may be considered in lieu of a degree or certifications

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
