Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Computer User Support Specialist – Advanced. This is a great opportunity to join a team of dedicated professionals focused on innovation and success.

The primary responsibility of this role is to diagnose and resolve end-user technical issues while providing outstanding customer service. The specialist will use remote support tools and a ticketing system to manage and document support interactions. Occasional on-site visits may be required for hands-on troubleshooting and user training.

Qualified candidates will have a solid understanding of computer hardware and software, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to exceptional support.

Compensation Minimum: $70,000

Compensation Maximum: $80,000

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

Computer User Support Specialist Advanced Skills and Experience:

  • Current Secret security clearance required
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional IT experience aligned with the responsibilities listed below
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for computer systems, hardware, and software, including operating system configuration, user account management, and system backup/recovery
  • Meet regularly with users to understand organizational needs and provide training on relevant processes and procedures
  • Maintain effective communication with end users to ensure coordinated efforts and strong customer relationships
  • Configure, manage, and support end-user devices such as desktops, laptops, printers, and scanners
  • Perform hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and repairs when remote support is not feasible
  • Manage user accounts, including creation and deletion, in accordance with organizational policies
  • Apply a solid understanding of information security principles, protocols, and best practices
  • Adhere to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), meeting required performance and resolution standards
  • Support additional duties as assigned to assist in achieving team and organizational goals
  • Familiarity with Windows OS, Microsoft Office, Trellix HBSS/ESS, Horizon VDI, SharePoint, TCP/IP networking, and Microsoft Active Directory

Education / Certifications

  • Strongly desired: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering degree or degree in Mathematics or Engineering
  • Relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education for this position
  • DOD 8570.01 IAT II certification required to start (e.g, Security+). Must be able to obtain a DODM 8140.03 advanced level certification before government deadline (Advanced: FITSP-O or GICSP or CASP+ or CISA or SSCP)

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
